Akash Solaraju Assoc. AIA, COA is an architect/multi-disciplinary designer with a background in architecture practicing in offices in the US and India. As an Independent Consultant, he enjoys working on interdisciplinary teams working at the intersection of design, craft, innovation, people, purpose and place. Akash has worked and collaborated with many well-known firms including Perkins Eastman, Stanford, Vinoly Architects, Schwartz Architects and RSP design consultants, in their offices in San Francisco, New York and Bangalore. He is actively engaged with multiple Startups/ Companies/ Projects/ Initiatives in an advisory capacity and/or as a design strategist. With experience in over 10+ practice areas, He is currently working on Residential, Mixed use, Hospitality, UIUX and Branding projects in the US and India.

Akash holds a Master of Science degree from Columbia University, NY, USA, focusing on Advanced Architectural Design and a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the RV School of Architecture, India. He actively participates in academia and research in various fields including Sustainability, affordable housing, urban planning and assisted living. Akash is a passive member of the Design for the Aging Committee-New York Chapter and has presented at EFA conferences on the topics of Home-Based Care and Community-Based Housing Models - Comparative Case Studies from the U.S.and India.
With an active interest to steer the conversation towards modular, prefab, and sustainable design, architecture and construction, Akash is working on and associated with various hospitality, retail and residential projects with Shipping Containers and modular construction technologies.
Akash is also a proficient photographer, avid Scuba diver and travel enthusiast.
